Dear Editor,
Could your readers use a dose of humor with their news? Dorothy Rosby’s humor column has appeared in small community newspapers for more than 20 years. It has been recognized by the National Federation of Press Women, the South Dakota Federation of Press Women and the South Dakota Newspaper Association. In 2022, she was named the global winner in the Erma Bombeck Writers Competition, humor category. She is a member of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
While her editors prefer local content, they find it helpful to rotate her bimonthly column with their own in-house or local columnists because of tightening budgets and small staffs. You can find samples of Dorothy’s humor on her blog or by Googling her name. Her typical column runs 550-650 words long.
